The strategy
Agents source, founders close.
We handle the heavy lifting of sourcing and vetting, so you only spend time on the conversations that matter — with the people who could actually become your next hire.
Describe the role like you would to a friend. We turn it into a polished job description, surface candidates worth your time, and the right people start arriving. Usually within the week.

How much does Startup Roles cost?
A flat 10% of the hire's first-year base salary, charged only on a successful hire. No subscriptions, no per-seat fees, no sourcing retainers, no charge for using the platform to brief roles, review candidates, or run your pipeline.
When exactly does the success fee get charged?
When your hire signs and starts. We invoice on their start date with net-30 terms. Nothing is owed while you're briefing, reviewing candidates, or running outreach — and nothing if the role doesn't close.
What if the hire doesn't work out?
Replacement guarantee inside the first 90 days. If they leave or you part ways, we re-run the search at no additional fee until you've made a replacement hire.
Do I pay for candidates I source myself?
No. The 10% fee only applies to hires made from candidates we surface. Inbound applicants and people from your own network are always free to hire through the platform.
How does the AI turn my brief into a job description?
You describe the role in a sentence or two — like you would to a friend. Our model drafts a structured JD with responsibilities, must-haves, nice-to-haves, and a compensation framing, using patterns from thousands of high-performing roles. You review, edit inline, and approve. Nothing goes live until you sign off.
Where do the candidates come from?
We search across public profiles, our private network of vetted operators, and inbound applicants. For each role we generate 2–4 ideal candidate personas, then search against each persona in parallel so you get range — not ten clones of the same profile.
How long until I see candidates?
First long list usually lands within 24–72 hours of you approving the JD. You'll review them as a swipe deck, accept the ones you want to talk to, and their contact details unlock the moment you accept.
Who does the outreach — you or me?
You do. Once you accept a candidate from the long list, their name and contact info are revealed in your pipeline and you reach out directly. Founders consistently get 3–5× the reply rate of agency outreach, so we lean into that. The platform works like a lightweight ATS so you can track each candidate through stages: To contact, Contacted, Interviewing, Offer, Hired.
Is my brief confidential?
Yes. Briefs, JDs, and pipelines are private to your workspace. We never share the company name with candidates until you choose to reveal it in your own outreach.
